For those in the wedding party/people invited to the dinner here is the info:

Rehearsal will take place at Windows On The River from 4pm-5pm.

*Please note that it is $3 to park in the parking lot that night. The passes that came with the invitations are only good for the day of the wedding. Parking on the street is free but hard to come by.*

All wedding party people are required to attend so we can practice for the big day! We only have an hour so we have to make it count!

The Rehearsal Dinner will be at Flannery’s Pub in Downtown Cleveland. You can start to arrive at 5:30pm and food will be served at 6pm.

*Please note that you will either have to hope you find a spot on the street or park in a garage. A small amount of walking in the cold may be involved as well as a small amount of cash.*

The menu will include: Caesar Salad, Lemon Chicken or Prime Rib, mashed potatoes, and mixed veggies. Dinner will include two drinks for all adults over the age of 21. Soft drinks will be available as well. If you’d like to drink more, feel free to pay for it yourself

Parking

Jason and I have decided to be very nice and pay for everyone’s parking! In your invitation envelope you will find a parking pass, good for Saturday February 26, 2011 ONLY at the Window’s on the River parking lot. Please remember to keep this pass and bring it with you to the wedding, otherwise you’ll be trying to find a spot on the street or will have to pay $3 to park in the parking lot that night. The pass is pretty hard to miss, it’s bright pink and doesn’t match the invitation at all!

Today was a very long day of scanning random items for people to buy us. We left the house at 10am and didn’t get back until 2pm. I honestly did not thing it would take that long. We went to Bed Bath and Beyond, Target, and Kohls. I did have fun, Jason not so much. But we did pick out a lot of nice stuff for everyone to get us, and I tried to make sure it wasn’t all REALLY expensive. Cake

I went to the cake consultation a few weeks ago. I think we designed a pretty nice cake. As for the flavors….well she sent me home with a box that had 8 different kinds of cake, and 5 or 6 different fillings so we could mix and match ourselves. Everything was delicious, even the chocolate cake (and I usually don’t eat chocolate cake).I think we came to a decision on flavors…I have them written down somewhere. But like every layer is going to have the chocolate peanut-butter filling…because it’s amazing. I could just sit there with a bowl of it and eat it. And I think 2/3 layers will have the banana cake because it’s really good.

This is the closest picture I could find to our cake, she made a really crude drawing while I was there but she kept it. But basically it’s a 3 layer square cake, and it’s got the little swirly thing we’re using on the invites on the corners of it. White cake, chocolate gnash swirls, and perhaps some burgundy ribbon on the bottom of each layer. Delicious.

And here is my bouquet. I kinda ended up giving up at the end. I really didn’t know what to do…and I was so sick of it. But it’s taped, glued, wrapped, so that’s that!

My mom came into town again at the end of August. We went on a shopping extravaganza!
And when I say extravaganza, I mean it. it was 8-9 hours of solid shopping. Michael’s, JoAnn’s, Pat Catan’s, creepy dollar stores, David’s Bridal and so on. We also went up to Windows to look at some stuff, get some measurements, all that fun stuff. We also got almost all the flowers together. The only thing left is my bouquet. We kinda gave up at that point. But the most exciting news is probably that we figured out how to beautifully bustle my dress with ONE BUTTON. Booya! Catan’s wanted to charge me $300 to bustle that thing and hem it. Solved that problem with my sweet zebra shoes! They’re like the perfect height. Anyway…here are pictures of the bouquets.

So I picked up my dress yesterday AND found amazing shoes to go with it!

My Matron of Honor Jenn and I also looked at tuxedos and got some ideas, but now I’m having a color dilema picking between cocoa and truffle for the maid’s dresses. They’re really not that different, but I guess we’ll see what matches the tuxedos best.

My mom came in the weekend of May 14th and we went dress shopping and I finally found “the dress”. It’s amazing and NOTHING like what I expected to wear.
Which is exactly what everyone said I would end up getting. We also went and found the bridesmaid dresses and flowers. Here are some lovely pictures! The only big items we’re missing now are tuxes and invitations! Hopefully…there seems to be more and more to add to my to-do list everyday!

Dresses again!

So I went dress shopping, and I was surprisingly comfortable hanging out in basically my underwear in front of a bunch of strange people! And I thought that would be the worst part. Actually the worst part was falling completely in love with a dress that is WAY over my budget. None of the dresses I thought I’d like looked good on me AT ALL! Here are the results

This is “the one” it’s also “the too expensive one”. It was the first dress I looked at when we walked into the store, but it had a hedious flower strap on it (which was removable) it’s also got a few bunches of satin flowers on it (again removable) but I actually liked them there. Basically it was amazing and perfect and I can’t have it so I need to keep looking.

This one is good too…but not as great. Ok the great part was the fact that that dress, right there, that I am in is a size 8! the only thing I’ve every worn in a size 8 is my shoes! But yea it kinda squished my hips and really hurt and I couldn’t buy that thing in a size 8…but still I fit in it!

This is the “poofy one” that the sales lady tried to talk me into buying that day! Umm…no I don’t need to look like barbie thanks. It was fun trying it on and everything but yea…I’m not a poofy barbie kinda girl.

So I’m super excited to go dress shopping next Saturday with my Matron of Honor, Brides Man (I guess?) and my other friend probably. I’m just going to look around to get an idea of what I like before my mom comes out to look with me. I think once I put on a huge puffy white dress the whole getting married thing will finally feel real to me. We’ll see. I’m worried I’m going to hate them all, I’ve been looking (obviously) and I just can’t picture myself in any of them! And I need to remember it’s going to be in Feb and it will be FREEZING! I keep finding short ones I like. But so far I’m in love with basically anything from the Ella Rose collection. Here are my top 3. And the best part, they’re completely affordable!!

The Location

We decided on a venue for our wedding after much researching, number crunching, and visiting different locations. The place is Windows On The River.

It is located downtown, on the west side of the flats, in the powerhouse building on the 2nd and 3rd floors. We picked Windows On The River because of the amazing views from the 2 story windows over looking the Cleveland skyline, tasteful decor, and great location. We will have 2 floors, the room is situated with a large balcony that over looks the main floor area.

Parking is located right out front, cost is $3.00 . You come in the main doors of the powerhouse, go to the second floor, and signs will direct you to the rest of the way.
